Transforming Pakuranga Golf Club’s Clubroom with a VelaSun® Fixed Pergola Roof

Auckland’s Pakuranga Golf Club set out to improve the usability of its popular clubhouse outdoor area by creating a more welcoming environment for members and guests year-round. After reviewing a range of roof systems and outdoor living solutions on the market, the club chose the Juralco VelaSun® Fixed Pergola Roof for its ability to elevate the space both aesthetically and functionally.

The VelaSun® system stood out for its capability to transform an exposed outdoor terrace into a versatile social hub that offers reliable protection from New Zealand’s demanding UV conditions and changeable weather. Its modern architectural design provided an ideal complement to the clubhouse’s existing structure while delivering the durability and practicality the club required.

Expert Installation

The project was completed by Louvre Roof Concepts, an expert Juralco installer and part of our nationwide network of specialists. Led by owner Kent, the East Auckland-based team custom-designed and installed the VelaSun® solution to achieve a perfect fit, demonstrating that to maximise the effective use of space, outdoor solutions are never “one size fits all.”

Proudly manufactured in New Zealand, the VelaSun® Fixed Pergola Roof includes an available Producer Statement (PS1), which can support building consent applications and confirms compliance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) an important consideration when selecting a durable, long‑term outdoor roofing solution.

A Custom Finish That Completes the Space

The pergola was tailored to integrate seamlessly with the club’s architecture, with the chosen powder coat colour Dulux® Matt Ironsand providing a cohesive, understated look that blends naturally with the existing fixtures and fittings. Constructed from durable aluminium and fitted with UV‑resistant polycarbonate roof panels, the final result is a polished and functional outdoor area suitable for relaxation and socialising in any season.
